Structural steel takeoff by size and weight

We take every member off the framing plans by size and length and weigh it from its section's pounds per foot. The plates, deck and slab come with it.

What the steel takeoff includes

  • Beams and columns by section (W, M, S, HP, C, MC) and length, weighed in pounds.
  • Bearing plates and anchor bolts at masonry bearings, from the standard details.
  • Composite metal deck, pour stops and closures.
  • Headed shear studs at the spacing the drawings call for.
  • Slab concrete on deck, in cubic yards, and welded wire fabric.
  • Stair stringers, headers and landings from the stair framing details.

Traced to the framing plan

Each member is drawn on its framing sheet and in 3D, so a fabricator's tonnage can be checked member by member. See the floor structure as built: W8 beams, composite deck and lightweight concrete.

Questions

Do you include connections?

We include what the drawings show: bearing plates, anchor bolts and studs. Connection design that is left to the fabricator is withheld and flagged.
